UX Portfolio Template

/

Realizing that I will soon be searching for jobs in the User Experience (UX) field, I began researching how I should be creating my portfolio. Coming from a graphic design background, I knew what components went into those portfolios, but was unsure of where to start with one for a UX designer. My research brought me to the conclusion that it would be hard to compete with these portfolios of designers who have been in the business for a while. They have their own style, flare and way of highlighting their client work that forced me to think of how I was going to present my own. I wanted to be able to showcase process and be able to tell a story.

The template is customizable using Sass (Syntatically Awesome Style Sheets).

Challenges: There was an unusual time crunch for getting this project completed and I let it get the best of me. I didn’t do as many user tests throughout the design as I should have and this is critical for anyone looking to venture into this field. The most important piece of knowledge I have gained from this project is that in the future I need to step back, remember my workflow and then tackle the task at hand being sure to user test every step of the way. Finally, the overall look of the template felt more juvenile than what was initially planned for. Going back I would like to add more polished features and design elements.
