Endangered Marine Life

In an effort to combine my illustration work with typography, created a series of playing-cards with illustrations of endangered sea life and information about them, why they are endangered and how we can help.

On the front of the card are the illustrations with it’s name. On the
back of the card is the information. They function similarly to baseball cards, but about sea life.

In terms of printing, I used moo.com’s eco-friendly “green” stock because it
fits the theme of preserving endangered species. I have always had a passion for marine biology and have attended the Acadia Institute of Oceanography’s (AIO) marine biology summer program in Maine as well as a research/discovery trip with them to Belize. I believe having the ability to hold a card in your hand and cary it with you would act as a more tangible way to reach people
about important subjects such as saving and preserving our marine ecosystems.
